With over 8 years of teaching experience, Coach Lin first launched her peer-tutoring service in English, Mathematics, History, and Social Sciences in middle school. An International Relations major with a 3.95 GPA, Coach Lin has an IELTS overall band score of 8.5, L: 9.0, R: 8.5, W: 7.5, S: 8.5. During her studies at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, she was a Podcast Producer of “Global Get Down- A Global Affairs Podcast”. Her passion for education started at a young age, and she spends her holidays teaching English to ESL children and organising engaging team building activities.

In debate, Coach Lin was recently awarded 3rd Best Novice Speaker and Novice Champion at the Anglo Blend Debate Championship and broke 11th at the Thailand Debate Open.

With a great interest in writing, she has co-authored a textbook with students and academics from diverse backgrounds for upper-level undergraduate and graduate students and is also an International Essay Contest Semifinalist for the Institute for Youth in Policy’s 2024 Summer Cycle.

Teaching Philosophy

Coach Lin believes in student-led learning and engages in the Socratic method of teaching, posing guided questions for students’ deeper understanding and critical thinking. As a teacher, she is committed to creating a productive, safe, and inclusive learning environment for all students from all diverse backgrounds. Her goal as a teacher is to inspire and empower her students to become lifelong learners and critical thinkers.
