Coach Add

Aditya Dutta
Speech & Debate Coach

Currently majoring in International Relations with a GPA of 3.97, Coach Add has always prioritised academic excellence. He bears an IELTS overall band of 8.5, and is a double recipient of the Outstanding Cambridge Learner’s Award for the highest grade in Thailand for IGCSE English Language and A-Level English Language.

Coach Add had little guidance when it came to the ways and means he should navigate career and academia, as well as how to succeed in them. Therefore, throughout his junior and senior year in high school, Coach Add developed a tutoring program to help students from middle to high school sophomores achieve academic success in the humanities. Namely: English, Economics, and History. Coach Add focused on the deconstruction of seemingly complex concepts, and putting it into perspective in the real world in order to blur the divide between daunting textbooks and reality. This led to his students not just having a clearer and more confident outlook towards their academic future, but the improvement of their exam technique and understanding. This helped Coach Add ensure that the generation that followed, would not have to go through the troubles he did.

Coach Add’s first foray into competitive debating in Thailand was as a member of Mahidol University’s Debate Club. Having only been a member of the club for less than a month, Coach Add tested his mettle against the best in Thailand during the 2024 European Union in Thailand Intervarsity Debate Championship. In his first tournament, he achieved Best Novice Speaker, and he has since gone on to compete in several international tournaments since. Notably, he was a semifinalist of the Rahat British Parliamentary 2024, where he was in the top 6% of all speakers, and in the top 10% of all speakers in the Muntazar 2024 Debate tournament. Having recently represented his university once more in the prestigious Asian British Parliamentary Debate Championship in 2024, Coach Add continues to be a prolific participant in the competitive debate circuit.
